Meet the team
Tess
Service Lead
Hello, my name is Tess, and I’m a Service Lead at Brent Court
I’ve worked in care for over ten years, mainly within charitable organisations, supporting people with a wide range of needs. Along the way, I’ve worked closely with volunteers and professionals from many different backgrounds, which has shaped my belief in inclusive, person-centred support and strong community connections.Â
I was drawn into this field through friends who already worked in supported living. Their passion inspired me, and once I started, I knew this was where I belonged.Â
For me, good support is about being present, consistent, and respectful – really listening and adapting so people can live with dignity, choice, and confidence, while still feeling safe.Â
I also have experience as a Compliance Officer, which means safeguarding, quality, and accountability are always at the heart of what I do. I believe safety and independence should work together, and I involve people in their own care planning and decisions wherever possible.Â
I’m proud of the difference I’ve been able to make, especially for people who don’t have family around them. In many ways, I become that consistent, supportive presence – and that’s something I value deeply. Â
Outside of work, I enjoy reading, gardening, travelling, and spending time with friends. I appreciate simple joys and try to bring that same warmth and positivity into my work every day.Â
Supported living is about partnership. It’s not just providing care. It’s helping people build meaningful, fulfilling lives.
