Are you a Cura Person? At Cura, it’s not just what you do that matters; it’s how you do it. These are the qualities that help people thrive at Cura:
Respect sits at the heart of everything we do. That means respecting people’s choices and decisions, their interests and ambitions and their dignity, privacy and wellbeing. Great care is possible when people feel respected, safe and confident.
Whether you’re supporting someone directly or working behind the scenes, your actions have a real impact on people’s lives. Being caring and empathetic helps you build meaningful relationships with the people you support and with your colleagues, creating a culture where everyone feels valued.
The best care is never delivered alone. At Cura, you’ll work alongside colleagues, families, healthcare professionals, training providers and managers to support each person to live their best life. Person-centred care is only possible when everyone understands their role and works together.
Every person deserves to be met with openness and respect. Some people we support may be vulnerable or misunderstood. Your role is not to judge. It is to empower, reassure and help people feel confident being themselves. By getting to know people on a personal level, you help build trust, safety and a more successful outcome.
People communicate in different ways, and great support starts with really listening. At Cura, strong communication means being open, patient and adaptable, whether that’s using words, body language, visual cues, or simply taking the time to understand what someone is trying to tell you.
No two days are the same, and working in care can be hard. The people we support rely on us, even on the hard days. Cura people respond calmly when things change and stay open to new ways of working. They also stay steady through challenges, learn from difficult moments and continue to show up with care and professionalism.
We encourage you to grow both personally and professionally, whether through formal training, mentoring, or simply learning from everyday experience. You’ll have regular one-to-one meetings with your manager to reflect on your work, celebrate progress and set goals. And for those who want to progress, there are clear opportunities to gain qualifications and take the next step in your career.
Strong routines bring comfort, confidence and structure to daily life, particularly for people with autism or complex needs. Being organised means managing time and tasks well, understanding personalised plans, and delivering support in a calm, proactive and consistent way that helps people build independence.
At Cura, we are committed to equality, diversity and inclusion. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and experiences and are proud to be an inclusive employer.
Tess, Support LeadSafety doesn’t have to limit independence. It’s about finding the right balance so people can make choices confidently.
