Our Referral Process
We will confirm within 48 hours whether we believe Cura can support the referral, based on needs, risks, compatibility, and current capacity.
We will then carry out our own detailed assessment, ensuring we fully understand the person, their needs, goals and preferences. This enables us to design a support package directly supporting the needs and goals of the individual.
Where we can safely and effectively support the person, we will provide a full costing and formal confirmation to the placing authority.
Once the placement is agreed, we work closely with the person being referred, their current care provider, family and advocates, and other health and social care professionals to plan a transition that feels safe, respectful, and right for the individual.
Every transition is different and tailored to the person’s needs. This can range from:
- As little as one week or day, when someone is ready for a swift move
- Up to twelve weeks, where a more gradual approach is needed to allow time for familiarisation, relationship-building and emotional adjustment
Our priority is always a smooth, positive move that supports long-term success.
